Goons — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026 · Publisher: PhinetechWhat we collect
Goons collects only what is needed to run games and to understand how the game is played:
- Player names you type (nicknames for the table or an online room).
- Gameplay events — role dealt, night actions, votes, eliminations, winner, and how long decisions take.
- Session details — play mode (single or multi-phone), number of players, start and end time, and an anonymous random session ID.
We do not collect your real name, email, phone number, contacts, location, advertising ID or device identifiers. The app has no accounts, ads or in-app purchases.
How it is used
Gameplay data is used to run online rooms, balance the game, and produce aggregated research statistics about group decision-making (for example how often players vote with the majority). It is never sold or shared with advertisers.
Where it is stored
On your phone: player names, settings, your game statistics and any not-yet-uploaded events are kept in the app's local storage. On our server: session and event records are stored on a server operated by Phinitech. Data is sent over the network when you play online or when the app uploads gameplay statistics.
Retention and deletion
Game records are kept for up to 24 months. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling removes all data on your phone. To ask us to delete server records tied to a room code or player name, email phinetechltd@gmail.com.
Children
Goons is a social deduction game intended for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
